With a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from the University of Calgary, Mr. Newton is a proven IT Security professional with advanced Incident Handling/Response and Technical Security Operations experience in a wide range of organizational settings, including Fortune 500 companies. Active certifications include CISSP, GCFA, GCIH, GSEC, CCNA, and MCITP: Enterprise Administrator.
During his career he has redesigned and managed implementations of new network perimeters (including new firewalls, proxies, auditing systems, IDS/IPS, mail filtering, etc.) and published security research which has been referenced by a number of leading media sources. Mr. Newton has worked on teams at several multi-national organizations tasked to ensure that compliance was maintained with respect to applicable standards and regulations, such as SOX, HIPAA, etc.
