Principal Engineer

Job Summary:

As a Principal Engineer you are part of a team that is responsible for ensuring the security and full functioning of Stalwart's solutions. All our engineers must possess a solid baseline of core networking skills, afterwhich they may choose to specialize in security, unified communications or data center. In your role you will work closely with the client/prospect to understand their requirements, make appropriate recommendations, sell yourself and Stalwart's technology, manage projects and build client loyalty.

Essential Functions

  • Engineer and sell robust, secure communications infrastructure solutions.
  • Manage accounts and promote client loyalty.
  • Manage and document projects.
  • Mentor and train lower level engineers on Stalwart processes and tools.
  • Conduct knowledge transfer sessions with key client staff.

Education & Experience:

  • A minimum of 8 years of relevant industry experience is required.
  • A Graduate Degree is preferred; or equivalent experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to sell and deliver multiple, complex technology projects.
  • CCIE and/or CISSP preferred; CCNP and/or GSEC or CISA acceptable.
  • PMP a plus.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Responsibility:

  • The tasks this individual is responsible are often unstructured and the issues addressed are less defined requiring new perspectives and creative approaches.
  • This individual will apply his experiences and knowledge in solving problems that are complex in scope.
  • Demonstrate good judgment in solving problems and proposing solutions.

Interaction:

  • This individual must work effectively with the Area Practice Manager, across functions and with external stakeholders.
  • Limited supervision and direction is provided, as this individual can operate, drive results and set priorities independently.
  • The ideal candidate will be a proactive contributor and subject matter expert.
  • To be successful, this individual must demonstrate favorable results through regular leadership and influencing others.
